What an ASTROnomical amount of fun we had today at the ASTROS GOLF FOUNDATION Celebratory Luncheon for the TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOUSTON OPEN, a stop on the PGA TOUR. The foundation is a driving force behind a program called BIRDIES FOR CHARITY, presented by OXY, that raises funds for local nonprofits. We were honored to participate this year and to receive a $2,500 award to further our work of connecting people to the resources they need. Many thanks to the group of men from one of FIND Men’s Ministry’s small groups that erected an installation in honor of the late Brett Anderson. Yesterday, a crowd of community members and FamilyPoint Resources kids gathered to dedicate the the installation. We learned that Brett loved to serve, and he loved serving at the Outreach Center of West Houston and also helping the kids of FamilyPoint Resources. The words on the poles stand as a testament to the kind of life Brett lived. May we all carry with us #strength, #peace, #laughter, #faith, #hope, #love, #joy, and #resilience.
